This list of chat rules is meant to serve as a guideline. Chat staff members reserve the right to use their discretion to determine whether or not a member is acting appropriately in the chat room. Bans can and will be enforced for disruptive behavior that is not specifically mentioned in this list.

1: This is a family friendly environment. Please keep screen names, language and content “G rated,” or family friendly. Parents with young children should realize that we can not prevent offensive language or content, only react when it happens. Please monitor your children’s presence closely in this chat room.

2: Excessive use of smilies will be considered flooding, and will result in a ban.

3: Please behave in a manner that is respectful to the staff and other chat members at all times. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

4: Private messages should not be sent without prior consent of the other party. Please ask them first.

5: Do not come to this room for the sole purpose of soliciting private chats, dating, or “picking up” someone. Any efforts in this area will result in a permanent ban.

6: Please do not type in all caps. This is considered “yelling” in chat communities and is offensive.

7: Impersonating anyone including a TAPS member or staff member will result in a permanent ban.

8: Circumventing a temporary ban will result in a permanent ban.
