Rules for moderators:
1. Member rules 2 through 10: All the original rules apply to moderators in the same sense that they apply to members. The only exception being that messages in ALL CAPS might not be considered "Disruptive".
2. Everyone who you kick/ban must have violated one of the member rules: This is very important. Do not use your own judgment to kick people for reasons that you think are appropriate, if they have not violated a rule, do not kick or ban them.
3. You must fill out a reason for every kick/ban: If you are too tired to fill out a ban reason, it would take too long, your finger hurts and you don't want to type it, that is too bad, it is part of your responsibility as a moderator, if you do not want to be a moderator then that is your decision. The only exception is if someone is heavily spamming, and they obviously know not to do it.
4. The reason in the ban/kick must say what rule the person being kicked/banned broke: That means if someone is advertising, then the ban reason needs to say "Advertising" or "advertising". You can have more explanation to your ban/kick however somewhere in there you must say what rule the person broke.
5. Only make people member after they have either signed up for the forums and made 1 post (Located here www.video-game-info.com/forums).Be sure that the person on the chat is who they claim to be on the forums, when in doubt ask them to put their xat ID from the chat in the xat ID section on the forums.
6. Do not make people guest unless they have advertised, posted the same link over and over, abused superkick, or were made a member without fulfilling the requirements listed in rule 4.
7. Get a screenshot or some other form of proof for PC/PM violations: The violation must have actually happened for them to be kicked/banned, which can't be determined on someone’s word alone. Yes, it is "possible" to forge a screenshot however it is much less likely. If you are thought to be "forging" screenshots, you may be demoted, or you may not be allowed to ban people who violate rules in PC/PM with you unless you get video evidence.
8. Give appropriate kicks/bans: This means that if someone is a first time user and for example post a message that has all caps or some other minor violation not to immediately ban them, and not even necessarily a kick.
9. Do not unban people who were banned for good reasons: If someone broke the rules enough times and deserved to be banned, don't just unban them. If you don't know whether or not they broke the rules (For instance a person you don't know signs on and is banned) don't unban them. The only time you should is if the ban was obviously abusive or unjust, or if you feel they have served enough time (Which you can't know if you don't know what rule they broke).
Owner rules:
First of all Owners have the permission to violate rules, and give their permission to violate rules if they think it is in the best interest of the chat. So the original rules do not necessarily apply to them.
1. Do not make anyone a moderator: If you feel someone should be a moderator then consult with the Main Owner first. Do not simply make someone a moderator. The only exceptions to this are 1. I give you permission to make that person a moderator or 2. It is a person you de modded 3. It is a person another Owner de modded for an obviously wrong reason.
2. Do not abuse power: Hm... Just 2 rules? Yeap that's it. However "Do not abuse power" actually covers a lot, by giving someone (Including themselves) "permission" to violate the rule the are actually using the power that comes with being an owner. So if they give themselves "Permission" to violate the rule and a Main Owner determines that it is not in the best interest of the chat then that person would be De Ownered. Best interest is determined at the sole discretion of the Main Owner, if you would like to be safe, simply don't violate any of the member/moderator rules (And don't randomly de mod people either). While the can also ban/de mod/member/guest people for what they determine to be in the "Best interest" of the chat. That would also be power abuse.
Main Owner rules:
While I try to keep the chat as fair as possible, I still have the ability to ban/unban mod de mod anyone, or violate a rule if I deem it necessary. Please keep in mind that this is a chat is owned and operated by me, and even though I will try to follow the rules/keep things fair that I still have the final say in what happens.
